Pleasant Words ~ Feb. 11

"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." ~Proverbs 16:24.

So, what is the point of speaking kind and sweet words? Our verse says that they are "...sweet to the soul, and health to the bones" what does this mean?

First of all what are Pleasant/Good words? You might say that words like, "Please" "Thank you!" "I love you!" "Good Morning!" "Can I help you?" "Bless you!" or something like these are Pleasant and Kind words right? Yes, I'm not arguing that at all, but how can we know what pleasant words are? How can we make for sure that we are speaking pleasant words?

The word of God is Good, Perfect, Beautiful, Kind, lovely, brings Peace, life, Hope and Joy, and are Pleasant; God speaks from His heart, and His heart is pure self sacrificing love! Therefore, all the words He speaks are from love, and are love!

The Bible says of Jesus, that He came "...that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10.) So, He spoke words that brought life, spiritual and physical health and healing.

If we are speaking God's words, words of love that Jesus would speak, then we will bring Hope, Peace, Holy Cheer, Love, health and life to people!

People even do tests today speaking Good Kind words, and Mean Hateful words to plants, foods, etc. and have seen how drastic are the effects for life and preservation and death and rotteness by just speaking words! Mean words have killed people, and in the same way, words have brought Hope, Joy, and Peace to so many hopeless, helpless people! 

Since what we say really does effect us, what should we as followers of Christ be speaking? Words of Hate, fear and death? No! May God help us forsake these words and rather let us only speak words of Hope, Peace, Holy Cheer, and love to bring life and health to people!

May all our words be sweet to the souls, and health to the bones!
